2009, 6 October 8:05PM UFO sighting
My daughter, Eleesha, and I were outside hanging out the washing. It was very dark and the moon had not risen yet. Eleesha spotted a bright yellow star in the sky which was not moving but didn't mention it until now. I had just finished hanging up the last piece of clothing and we began to walk back inside. I noticed something move in the sky and turned to look at it. It was a bright yellow light moving from north to south, the same yellow light that Eleesha previously saw stationary minutes beforehand.
It was different to all objects in the night sky. At this time there were no clouds in the sky and hundreds of stars were visible. It was not like an airplane at all. We are used to seeing airplanes go overhead at all hours of the day and night, as they come from Brisbane and go to Melbourne, Adelaide and Sydney and Canberra. We know airplanes' flight paths across the sky. Due to the various other planes that ocassionally cross the sky, including army and airforce planes, we are familiar with all known traffic in the sky, including helicopters.
The light we saw was actually twice as big as the planet in the sky, to the east, at the time. The light was bright yellow and it did not flash on and off like airplane lights do. There was a bit of noise, like a very faint sound of a commercial airliner. This UFO did not follow any airplane flight path. I got really excited as I have not seen a UFO whilst fully awake travel across the night sky, so I raced inside to get my mobile phone to take a video of it. The UFO began to turn in a south east direction as I was almost inside. Racing back outside again the UFO was still visible but my mobile phone could not detect the UFO. We both watched the UFO travel across the sky now travelling somewhat in an arc around Tenterfield and it seemed to be heading toward the Tenterfield dam direction.
I decided to go out the front for a better view, and hurried Eleesha in that direction. Eleesha was shaking a bit from being scared but I comforted her telling her they won't hurt you. I told her they might be looking for me but said also that I wasn't sure about that.
Out the front I raced to my brother's place to ask to borrow his cam corder but as I watched the UFO it slowly began to go further and further away in a south east direction. It then suddenly just disappeared. The UFO was not as high as an airplane.`
